As usual, it's been way too long since I updated, so I either have to get a life or post boring things more often. I've been working full time getting ready for Alumni Weekend, which is coming up pretty fast, so I haven't had a lot of time for photography lately. I'm hoping to remedy that soon, with a photo series of Guelph while the weather still holds.

I've pretty much finished the logistical arrangements for moving, so now I can tie up the last loose ends and enjoy my last two months in Guelph. The weather's great right now, and not being in school is really nice for the moment.

Two stories to link in from CNN: I don't normally get my news from them (the BBC is far better for an international perspective), but I was amused at these two.

Westminster Abbey has refused to let moviemakers film "The Da Vinci Code" on location there. Not surprising, really, but the Abbey's statement made me laugh: "Although a real page turner, The Da Vinci Code is theologically unsound." God, I love the Brits.

Also, a 9-year-old girl stabbed another in the chest with a steak knife during a fight over a ball. This story is not funny in the least. However, the girl's neighbour, quoted in the article, has the best damn drag queen name since Flotilla DeBarge. Diva McPhatter... the joke possibilities are endless.

I've had a very nice lazy weekend, interspersed with some photography... I did a mini-shoot with Malcolm today, results on pbase as usual, and I've added a new gallery under "Photography Fun" for my pet portraits. I want there to be a place people can go to see my work if/when I ever get a little business going.

I also have to upload a couple of shots from Friday night's International No Pants Day party at Jer's. (No, I did not wear pants. I wore a skort, which I think was a rather neat evasion of the whole thing, skorts being neither pants nor a skirt, but others thought it was a cop-out. Oh well.) Other than that, my weekend's been exceptionally quiet and restful which is a nice change from the insanity work's been recently. Alumni Weekend is coming up rapidly, and we're starting to take registrations for that as well as getting ten million other assorted time-consuming projects done. Good times.

Inspired by Ian, I've licensed my photo work under a Creative Commons license (link to the left if you want more info). The license applies to this blog as well, but since I'm not posting anything terribly interesting lately, I'm not as concerned with people stealing my text. Not that I think anyone's doing it or has done it, but it's good to be protected.

Still haven't finished 26 Things, but I did end up getting a lot of good shots this weekend of Sammy and Zoe (I'm practicing my pet-photo technique in preparation for hopefully going pro). They're up in my Animals gallery, starting here.
